This Acceptable Use Policy (“Policy”) sets out the standards of acceptable use that apply to all websites developed, maintained, or otherwise supported by Conrad-Media (“we”, “us”, “our”). It applies to all clients (“you”, “your”) engaging Conrad-Media for any service and should be read alongside our General Terms of Service.

By engaging Conrad-Media, you confirm that your website and its content comply with this Policy and that you will ensure they continue to do so for the duration of our engagement.

 

1. Purpose

Conrad-Media provides web development and maintenance services to business clients. This Policy exists to protect Conrad-Media, our infrastructure, our other clients, and the public from harm that could arise from websites we build or maintain hosting unlawful, harmful, or abusive content or activity.

 

2. Prohibited Content and Uses

You must not use any website developed or maintained by Conrad-Media to host, distribute, facilitate, or promote any of the following:

 

2.1 Unlawful Content

  • Content that is illegal under the laws of England and Wales, France, or the jurisdiction in which you operate
  • Content that infringes any third-party intellectual property rights, including copyright, trademarks, and patents
  • Content that constitutes defamation, harassment, or unlawful discrimination
  • Content that violates any applicable data protection or privacy law

 

2.2 Harmful or Abusive Content

  • Content that promotes, facilitates, or glorifies violence, terrorism, or self-harm
  • Content that is obscene, pornographic, or sexually explicit
  • Content that targets, exploits, or endangers minors in any way
  • Content designed to harass, bully, intimidate, or harm any individual or group

 

2.3 Deceptive or Fraudulent Activity

  • Phishing pages, fraudulent forms, or any content designed to deceive users into providing personal or financial information
  • Impersonation of any person, business, or organisation
  • False or misleading advertising or claims
  • Spam distribution or unsolicited commercial communications

 

2.4 Malicious Technical Activity

  • Distribution of malware, viruses, ransomware, or any malicious code
  • Hosting of scripts or tools designed to attack, compromise, or gain unauthorised access to other systems
  • Any activity that places excessive or abusive load on hosting infrastructure
  • Cryptocurrency mining without explicit user consent

 

2.5 Regulated Industries Without Compliance

  • Operating in a regulated industry (financial services, healthcare, legal services, gambling, pharmaceuticals, etc.) without holding the required licences, registrations, or authorisations
  • Making claims or providing advice in regulated areas without appropriate authorisation

 

3. Conrad-Media’s Rights

 

3.1 Suspension of Services

Conrad-Media reserves the right to suspend maintenance services, withhold development deliverables, or withdraw support immediately and without prior notice if we reasonably believe that your website is in breach of this Policy.

 

3.2 Termination

Serious or repeated breaches of this Policy constitute a material breach of our General Terms of Service and may result in immediate termination of all services without refund of any fees paid.

 

3.3 Reporting

Conrad-Media reserves the right to report any content or activity that we believe to be unlawful to the relevant authorities, without prior notice to the client.

 

3.4 No Obligation to Monitor

Conrad-Media is not obligated to actively monitor the content of client websites. This Policy does not imply that we routinely review client content. However, where a breach comes to our attention – whether reported by a third party or discovered in the course of maintenance work – we reserve the right to act as described above.

 

4. Client Responsibility

You are solely responsible for all content published on your website and for ensuring that your website and its use comply with all applicable laws and regulations. Conrad-Media’s provision of development or maintenance services does not constitute endorsement of your website’s content or business activities.

 

5. Changes to This Policy

Conrad-Media reserves the right to update this Policy from time to time. Clients will be notified of any material changes with no less than 30 days’ written notice. Continued engagement with Conrad-Media after that period constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
